Remember summer break? Ah, those glorious days. Three months of fun in the sun, with some random PT job to add some cash to the bank account.
But alas, those days couldn’t last forever and we are grown-ups. In fact, B just had his summer break. And it lasted a week. He spent it shadowing a doctor, going to an eye appointment and walking Mox. I spent the week working, so, not exactly the same. We were bummed to miss a friend’s wedding in the Pacific NW, but put a little welcome-back sign on their door.
But, it turned out to be a pretty awesome week! We did fit in some R&R, lunch dates, after-work drinks, a swim at the arboretum and an MLB game. This weekend was in the 70’s and sunny.
B started his first urology sub-I yesterday on an oncology team. He came home 3 surgeries later, exhausted, but I think pretty happy. Doing what he wants to do and lots of surgery sounds like a good enough combo to lessen the high-pressure, high-stakes nature of the situation. I can’t believe it’s fourth year!
